Bin Laden says death better than capture ISLAMABAD, Nov 15 (AFP) - Osama bin Laden has told the Taliban he would rather die than be handed over to the United States, Afghan Islamic Press reported Thursday. The Pakistan-based agency quoted Taliban spokesman Mullah Abdullah as saying: "America can never arrest Osama bin Laden alive. "Osama has decided that death is better than being handed over to the Americans. He prefers death," said the spokesman. Abdullah also denied rumours that he said came from America that the Saudi dissident, accused of organising the September 11 attacks on New York and Washington, had been arrested. "This morning at 9:00 am I contacted my headquarters in Kandahar and there is no report about Osama bin Laden, and they strongly denied this rumour." |
