The UNP yesterday handed over a written complaint to the IGP requesting him to take action against the print and electronic state media institutions for publishing fabricated and malicious news items which directly tarnish the image of the United National Party.

The media institutions mentioned in the complaint are the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation, the Independent Television Net Work and the Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Ltd (Lake House).
