'Do not act without consulting me', Speaker tells IGP Having considered the report of the inquiry into the
action of the Police on July 16, 2001 where senior Police Officers manning the entrances
to the Parliamentary precincts at Sri Jayawardhanapura Kotte, had prevented Members of
Parliament from entering the Parliament premises in their vehicles, Speaker Anura
Bandaranaike has informed the Inspector General of Police Lucky Kodituwakku that hereafter
under no circumstances should the Police act in a similar manner without prior
