Parents stage picketing campaign

Parents of a group of students of Trinity College, Kandy staged a picketing campaign opposite the school premises on Thursday (May 30) protesting against alleged attempts by some quarters to bring the school to discredit.

The protesters alleged that certain parties smarting over the progress in education and sports activities achieved by the school, under the stewardship of the new Principal Udaya Ariyaratne were behind moves to discredit the school.

They said the schools under 19 cricket team under the guidance of the new Principal had been able to win the league tournament as well as the limited over cricket tournament and the Twenty 20 trophy. Members of the school cricket team also joined the protest campaign.
