Ramya Holdings celebrates silver jubilee

Ramya Holdings, the parent company of Trendywear (Pvt.) Ltd, Ramya Horticulture (Pvt.) Ltd and The Plains, celebrates its 25th Anniversary this year recently.

In line with its 25th Anniversary celebrations, Ramya Holdings organised many community service projects such as donating houses to the employees who were affected by recent natural disasters, developing and upgrading facilities in hospitals, schools and temples and conducting Health Clinics and Eye Clinics In order to motivate the employees of the company, a talent search event was organised in each factory to recognise the abilities and skills of the employees in, singing, dancing, compering and creativeness. The participants and winners were selected under the supervision of a panel of judges, comprising renowned professionals in these areas.

Each factory held a similar event, and awards were handed out to the best singer (Singing Star), best dancer (Dancing Star), and best compere. The individuals who excelled and displayed innovative ideas in their respective categories were recognised and awarded.

The main event in commemorating the 25th Anniversary was at the Kadawatha factory premises. The individuals who were employed by Ramya.

Holdings for more than five years were recognised, and they were awarded Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum prizes.

The company was established in 1988, and operated within the realm of apparel manufacturing to the export market, with a workforce of 55 and 35 machines initially. Today, the company has received many accolades globally and has been recognised as a reputed manufacturer and exporter of high quality ladies’ and children's wear to USA, UK and EU countries.


Some highlights from the event

With five state of the art factories located in Kadawatha, Katupotha, Delgoda, Adhikarigama and Wellawa, Ramya Holdings has continuously kept abreast of the emerging developments in the competitive and stringent industry it conducts business in.

The company offers direct employment to over 5000 people in the aforementioned areas, and has positively impacted many of their lives on numerous fronts. Ramya Holdings adheres to lobally-accepted standards governing health, safety and human ethics, and have obtained ISO and WRAP certification.

Ramya Holdings branched out to the horticulture business in 1998, with the establishment of Ramya Horticulture (Pvt.) Ltd, which is a grower and exporter of tropical foliage based in Sri Lanka.

The company exports a range of high quality tropical plants, unrooted cuttings, cut foliage and floral decorations, to discerning markets in Europe, the Far East and the Middle East. The latest venture of Ramya Holdings is the Eco-Friendly Holiday
