NTB announces launch of ‘NATIONS SALARY SAVER’,

Q. What is unique about this product?

A. This is the only Salary Savings account in the Retail Banking segment in Sri Lanka which offers you a variety of special features attached to the account itself.

Q. What is the eligibility criteria to open this account?

A. Nations Salary Saver can be opened by any Sri Lankan national over 18 years of age and holding a valid National Identity Card. The applicant must also be employed and earning a regular gross salary of LKR 20,000 and above.

Q. What is the initial deposit to open an account?

A. This account can be opened with an initial deposit of Rs. 1,000. However ,the salary should be credited to the account within the next 30 days.

Q. What are the main features of this product.

A. There are many special features attached to the product, such as the Joining Fee and the first year Annual Fee & Membership Rewards Enrollment Fee waivers on American Express Credit Cards, Joining Fee and first two year Annual Fee waivers on the Nations Global Cash Card (ATM), 1% below the market rate reduction on the Personal Loans interest rate, Pre approved limits on Nations Leasing, Overdraft facilities with processing Fee waivers and other Value Added Services.

Q. How can a customer apply for an overdraft facility?

A. If a customer opens a Current account along with the Nations Salary Saver account and credits his net salary to the Nations Salary Saver account for three consecutive months, he will be eligible to apply for an overdraft facility based on the Credit Evaluation Policy.

Q. Please could you let us know a few of the Value Added Services.

A. Customers are entitled to Free Internet and Mobile Banking facilities such as balance inquiries, utility bill payments and fund transfer facilities. They are also entitled to unlimited Free ATM withdrawals from over 1,000 ATMs islandwide.

Q. Are there any bank charges applicable to this account?

A. There is no minimum balance or account maintenance fee applicable to this account.

Q. Can an existing customer open this account and enjoy the benefits?

A. Yes, he could by providing all the documentation subject to the eligibility criteria. Customer also has the opportunity to retain the existing account.

Q. How should a customer remit his salary to the Salary Saver account?

A. The monthly salary should be remitted to the Nations Salary Saver by the employer through the Sri Lanka Interbank Payment System (SLIPS) or an Account transfer from the employer’s account or by a cheque deposit drawn accordingly.

Q. Is there a special promotion linked to this account.

A. Yes, the Remit & Win promotion. Customers could simply remit their monthly salary or Rs. 10,000 (whichever is higher) to the Nations Salary Saver account and stand a chance to win Smartphones during the promotional period.

Q. What are the Smartphones on offer In this promotion?

A. We will be offering a Samsung S4 and a Samsung Galaxy Tab in June, An Apple iphone 5 and an Apple ipad mini in July and a Blackberry Bold 9900 and a Blackberry Curve 9320 in August.
