SLNGA requests graduates to join graduate service minute
The Sri Lanka Nidahas Graduates Association (SLNGA) has requested all
graduate public servants to get themselves incorporated to the Graduate
Service Minute before August 14 which is the last date of the grace
period offered by the government to get absorbed in to the service
minute.
Secretary, Sri Lanka Nidahas Graduates Association Manul Perera said
that event hough there are certain lapses and shortcomings in the
approved service minute the Ministry of Public Administration and Home
Affairs has agreed to overcome such lapses and shortcomings by amending
the service minute during discussions the Ministry Secretary and
officials had with his union recently.
He said the introduction of a service minute for graduates itself is
a victory achieved by graduates in public service in finding solutions
to their problems and all graduates incorporated in the service minute
will be automatically designated development officers.
He said the Ministry Secretary also agreed to ensure that no graduate
will be removed after the completion of the six months training period
and the training period would be extended until graduate trainees are
confirmed in their posts.
