Two new books from Menike Sumanasekera
Two new books authored by seasoned writer Menike Sumanasekera were
released recently. Sumanasekera is a well-known author and public
speaker on positive thinking, psychotherapist and a counsellor in
psychology. Egeneemen Dakshayek Veemata Nam (To Excel in Studies), the
first book of the two, is targeted towards students. Sumanasekera has
previously authored several books for children - including the widely
popular Vibagayaen Niyatha Jayak (Definitive Success in Exams). She has
used feedback received from students who presented many of the obstacles
they faced as the foundation for authoring her new book - aimed at
guiding them to overcome such challenges. A primary objective of this
book is to explain proper techniques and methods of studying.
The author discusses many essential points around this topic such as
listening to teachers, writing notes, studying from books, how it goes
into their memory, pre-preparation for exams, writing and structuring
answers, the writing speed and style and time management. The book is
authored in her simple writing style which is easy to understand for
students and young children. She has strived to highlight the importance
of teaching students the proper techniques as early as possible and how
this can guide them to achieve success in both their academic and
personal activities.
Titled Bududhahamai Asirimath Sobha Dahamai (Buddhism and Nature),
her next book is aimed at wider audience. It contains many facts and
details around the beginning of man, life, nature and the universe.
Sumanasekera has endeavoured to help interpret the many sayings in
Buddhism which explain the nature and universe and the importance for
properly comprehending it. |
