Long standing Sampath Sanhinda Senior Citizens account holders in and around Colombo were in for a surprise when Sampath Bank invited them for the prestigious farewell show of Maestro Victor Ratnayake's 'Sa' at Nelum Pokuna recently.

It was "a dream come true" for the invitees who were nominated by the Sampath Branches on a first come first served basis.

Explaining the rationale behind this gesture recognizing Sampath Sanhinda account holders, the Bank's DGM, Marketing and Business Development, Tharaka Ranwala, said that having noticed the dreams and aspirations of the aging population in Sri Lanka, the Bank felt that providing such an opportunity to the Sampath Sanhinda account holders is the responsibility of the Bank to make sure that they are recognized for placing confidence in Sampath and to keep them mentally happy and healthy.

"It clearly demonstrates the Bank's concern for the Senior Citizens and its keenness to serve the community as a responsible corporate entity," he added.

As for the beneficiaries, there were all praise for the Bank for providing such a rare opportunity as to participate in such an eventful event.

"I really appreciate and thank Sampath Bank for recognizing me and giving me an opportunity to enjoy a show par excellence," said W. N.S Jayantha, a Sanhinda account holder from the Kiribathgoda branch.

Dr. D.S Wijesinghe had wanted to go for the show but failed to get tickets. "It came as a surprise when my wife and I got invitations from Sampath for the show, which we really enjoyed."

A banker, B.L.F. Perera was very pleased with the Bank's gesture.

"This was yet another way of showing respect to the senior citizens," he enthused."

Chief Executive Director at MAGA Engineering, Piyadasa Madarasinghe, expressed his gratitude for getting invited for the show.

"Both of us, were given the opportunity to experience the show, one of our dream events. We appreciate Sampath Bank's commitment in treating us respectfully, and for inviting us, busy people like us, may be this is the third time they recognized us."
