Sampath Bank Sanhinda Saver Customers at 'Sa' farewell show
Long standing Sampath Sanhinda Senior Citizens account holders in and
around Colombo were in for a surprise when Sampath Bank invited them for
the prestigious farewell show of Maestro Victor Ratnayake's 'Sa' at
Nelum Pokuna recently.
It
was "a dream come true" for the invitees who were nominated by the
Sampath Branches on a first come first served basis.
Explaining the rationale behind this gesture recognizing Sampath
Sanhinda account holders, the Bank's DGM, Marketing and Business
Development, Tharaka Ranwala, said that having noticed the dreams and
aspirations of the aging population in Sri Lanka, the Bank felt that
providing such an opportunity to the Sampath Sanhinda account holders is
the responsibility of the Bank to make sure that they are recognized for
placing confidence in Sampath and to keep them mentally happy and
healthy.
"It clearly demonstrates the Bank's concern for the Senior Citizens
and its keenness to serve the community as a responsible corporate
entity," he added.
As for the beneficiaries, there were all praise for the Bank for
providing such a rare opportunity as to participate in such an eventful
event.
"I really appreciate and thank Sampath Bank for recognizing me and
giving me an opportunity to enjoy a show par excellence," said W. N.S
Jayantha, a Sanhinda account holder from the Kiribathgoda branch.
Dr. D.S Wijesinghe had wanted to go for the show but failed to get
tickets. "It came as a surprise when my wife and I got invitations from
Sampath for the show, which we really enjoyed."
"It was a great opportunity for us. We are extremely thankful to the
Bank," he said.
A banker, B.L.F. Perera was very pleased with the Bank's gesture.
"This was yet another way of showing respect to the senior citizens,"
he enthused."
Chief Executive Director at MAGA Engineering, Piyadasa Madarasinghe,
expressed his gratitude for getting invited for the show.
"Both of us, were given the opportunity to experience the show, one
of our dream events. We appreciate Sampath Bank's commitment in treating
us respectfully, and for inviting us, busy people like us, may be this
is the third time they recognized us."
Sampath Sanhinda account holders from Wellampitiya, Nugegoda,
Kollupitiya, Narahenpita , Gregory's Road, City Branch, Bambalapitya,
Thimbirigasyaya, , Hendala, Pelawatta, Makola, Battaramulla, Platinum
Plus, and Kiribathgoda , were the beneficiaries.
Sampath Sanhinda Saver, the senior citizen savings account introduced
by Sampath Bank is specially designed to cater to the financial
requirements of senior citizens and is the only Savings Account that
pays interest twice a month with free medical facilities.
The product was launched in July 2009 and market studies show that it
is the leading product in the senior citizen savings segment in the
market. Created especially for senior citizens, a Sampath Sanhinda Saver
account can be opened for as low as a sum of Rs 2,500. The rate of
interest is higher than normal savings accounts and the account holders
can also enjoy additional benefits.
A further additional interest is paid on US Dollar savings.
If Rs 75,000 or higher account balance (annual average) is maintained
throughout the year, the account holder is entitled to free health
checks up to Rs.10,000.
More benefits in the form of winning holidays, both local and foreign
through a Lottery, are also included depending on the quantum maintained
