Sokian paddlers walked away with the girls and boys singles titles at the Hopes Table Tennis (TT) Championships which was conducted under the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Hopes programme at the Horana Indoor Stadium recently.

Kavindya Sheshadi became the girls champion by beating Sheshala Bandara of St Josephs BMV, Kegalle (11/5 ,11/6 , 11/ 6) while her schoolmate Charith Wiman won the boys trophy defeating P D U Tennakoon of Dharmaraja College, Kandy (8/11, 11/8, 07/11, 17/15, 11/7).

The world's first ITTF Hope Coaching Camp and the local Hope tournament was organized by the Sri Lanka Table Tennis Association and held from April 25 to May 1 in Colombo and Horana.

The head coach of the ITTF Hopes programme Dejan Papic was the chief guest at the award ceremony and gave away the awards. The ITTF Hopes Week in Sri Lanka included a coaching camp, tournament and a coaches training session.
