Police arrested six suspects with five kilograms of cannabis in their possession at two locations on Sunday.

The Pulmudai Police arrested two suspects riding a bicycle with 835 g of cannabis in their possession.

The suspects were identified as residents of the Padaviya area. Kuchchaveli Magistrate ordered that the suspects be remanded till May 14.

The Kotavehera Police arrested four suspects with 3 kg of cannabis in their possession. The Police first arrested two suspects delivering 3 kg of cannabis in a van in the Kumbukwewa area.

The suspects were residents of the Ambanpola area.

Police further said on information received from those two suspects another two suspects were arrested at Udagannawa, Ambanpola with 1 kg of cannabis. The suspects were produced before the Nikaweratiya Magistrate Kotavehera Police are investigating.
