Police HQ refutes news report

Police Headquarters yesterday denied reports published in certain sections of the media to the effort that a woman who was on her way to Colombo to participate in a May Day rally on Sunday died in a motor accident.

Police Headquarters in a press release said following investigations into this report it was found that no woman had died of a motor accident in Colombo.

However, a youth from Giritale who was injured in a motor accident at Peliyagoda on Sunday is receiving treatment at the Colombo National Hospital.

Apart from this the story about a woman dying of a motor accident is completely false and untrue.
