Sambuddhatva Jayanthi celebrations:

Other religions too welcome - Ven Kumburugamuwe Vajira Thera

'Buddhism does not belong to any one, nation or race, but is a philosophy which includes all the people in the world. It is a dogma delivered to the world signifying peace, said Prof Kumburugamuwe Vajira Thera.

'The 2600 Sambuddhathva Jayanthi is a very important event for Buddhists. 'Many Buddhist countries are preparing to commemorate this important event.

It is very important to us because we can commemorate this event ensuring the participation of all.

The Thera was addressing a press conference at the Information Department yesterday.

Kirulapone Pushparama temple Chief Incumbent Ven Elkaduwe Nagitha Thera also participated. Coordinator to the President (Religious Affairs) Ven Galagama Dhammaransee Thera, Coordinator to the President (Religious Affairs) Matale Amarawansa Thera, Rev Shantha Francis Bishop of Kurunegala and Coordinator to the President (Religious Affairs) Kurukkal Babu Sharma also spoke.
