Market gains

Indices at the Colombo Stock Exchange gained as the ASPI closed up by 11 points (+0.3 percent) to close at 3,835. The more liquid MPI gained 6 points (+0.1 percent) to close at 4,394.

Turnover for the day was Rs 838 million. Chevron Lubricants closed up by Rs 2.50 to end at Rs 178.50 on a turnover of Rs 95 million, while DIMO saw business of Rs 48 million to close at Rs 430.00, up 50 cents.

Coco Lanka non voting shares opened trading yesterday following the rights issue which saw 1.8 million shares listed. The non voting shares were closed the day at Rs 30.00. The non voting share was priced at Rs 25.00.

Coco Lanka voting which saw an additional 9 million shares enter the market closed at Rs 40.00 down 50 cents. First Guardian Equities
