Henson's Lions hopes in limbo

Gavin Henson faces a nervous wait to discover the full extent of an ankle problem that threatens his availability for the British and Irish Lions tour of South Africa.

Wales centre Henson limped off just before half-time during holders the Ospreys 17-0 Anglo-Welsh Cup semi-final loss to Gloucester at the Ricoh Arena here on Saturday.

Injuries have meant Henson has started just two of Wales's nine Tests this season and his latest setback came just a few weeks before the April 21 announcement by coach Ian McGeechan of the Lions squad to face world champions South Africa in a three-Test tour series starting in June. "It looks like an injury to his right ankle," said Sean Holley," the Ospreys' head coach.
