News Business Features Editorial Security Politics World Letters Sports Obituaries | EPDP protests Over 200 EPDP members carrying the casket of their gunned down front-liner Velauthan Ravindran protested in front of the Norwegian Embassy yesterday demanding Oslo intervention to stop assassinations carried out by LTTE during the ceasefire. Later a petition, addressed to Norwegian Ambassador Hans Brattskar was handed over to one of the embassy officials by the protestors. Family members of the gunned down EPDP front-liner was among the protesting crowd. Velauthan, the EPDP chief organiser for Ampara and Alayadivembu PS Chairman is suspected to have been shot by LTTE pistol gang members. |
