Delegation of IPU Committee on Human Rights arrives here

A delegation of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Committee on the
Human Rights of Parliamentarians arrived in Sri Lanka for a three day
visit yesterday.
The delegation includes Senator Juan Pablo letelier, Vice Chairperson
of the IPU Committee on the Human Rights of Parliamentarians senator
Francis Pangilrnan, Member of the Committee and Manager, Human Rights
programme of the Committee Rogier Huizenga. The delegation met Human
Rights Commission Chairman Justice Priyantha Perera, Leader of the House
and Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva and Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa. They
were to meet Opposition leader Ranil Wickremesinghe yesterday.
The delegation will meet various party representatives during their
stay until July 11. |
