Madrid Int'l Film Fest:
Chandran Rutnam's 'A Common Man' bags three awards

Chandran Rutnam's movie 'A Common Man' had won the Best Director,
Best Picture and Best Actor awards at the Madrid International Film
Festival which was held in Spain from July 1 to 6.
The movie which stars Ben Kingsley in the lead is based on an Indian
thriller named 'A Wednesday'. It also stars Ben Cross of 'Chariots of
Fire' fame.
Speaking to the Daily News Rutnam said that he is surprised and
thrilled by the news.
"I believed that Ben Kingsley will get the Best Actor award but never
imaged that I will get the Best Director award. It is a great honour to
me," he said.
The movie was nominated for the festival in four categories: Best
Director, Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor. The Madrid
International Film Festival is an international film event to celebrate
film making whilst bringing together film makers and the business of
film making under one roof. |
