EGuardian launches Safetica

Safetica, revolutionary software that will change the dynamics of employer-employee relationship in workplaces, has just been launched in Sri Lanka.

Developed in the Czech Republic and already being used successfully in South East Asia, Safetica allows the management/CEO of a company to actually assess productivity and security by having a monitoring mechanism that will keep them updated on the usage of each of the office computers.

Marawan Chanawani- Business Development Manager, Safetica Technologies, Pavel Kratky – Chief Technology Officer , Safetica Technologies, Nabhan Akeel, Managing Director , DCS International (Pvt) Ltd, Ajmeer Haniffa, Business Development Manager and Shihan Annon, Director DCS Internation (Pvt) Ltd at the event

Using the new software, CEOs could even detect whether employees are using their personal emails or devices such as pen drives, tablets and mobile phones etc to leak sensitive information to competitors.

The moment a suspicious transference of date takes place, the software will alert administrators, prompting them to take necessary action.

This does not mean that Safetica will impose a blanket ban on social media, fun websites and gaming applications.

But it will help administrators to moderate and regulate the online activities of employees, ensuring high productivity.

Safetica is the world's only Data Leak Prevention (DLP) software that offers complete prevention from human factor failures. In the hunt for perfect cover from all major threats, it incorporates a wide range of security features, which would otherwise require multiple software and services to be installed in a company. In other words, it will protect a company from the human tendency to err!

The software covers important aspects such as a Full-suite Data Leak Prevention platform, Device management, Data encryption, Measure staff productivity, Activity filtering and blocking and Regulatory compliance.

The launching of the software was held at Galadari Hotel, Colombo.

The importance of Safetica is underpinned by emerging threats of data breaches all over the world. Recent studies on data breaches have shown that the majority of insider data leaks - either accidental or malicious - go out through the endpoint computer.

Pavel ratky, CTO of Safetica Technologies, says there were two pronged approach to the development of Safetica.

"First, we wanted to give companies extensive coverage of all their potential data leak channels and give them a look at the behavior preceding a data breach. Secondly, we worked hard to make the process of using Safetica an easier and more instinctive experience.

The best protection is worthless unless fully installed and operational." The CTO says adding that the new product will broaden the horizons of data security.
