Hillwood clinch under 19 cager title

Hillwood College, Kandy became champions at the Central Province
Schools under 19 Girls Basketball Championship held over the weekend.
They achieved this victory after so many years scoring 61-35 points win
over St. Anthony's Girls College, Katugastota.

Hillwoodians won the 1st Runners-up shield at the all island under
17'B' division girls basketball tournament held recently in Colombo.
Their newly appointed coach Susil Udukumbura is the National Youth Coach
in Sri Lanka. Hillwoodians six footer, 16-year-old Kaveena Rajapaksha
scored 41 with the support of the team members, specially the ball
handler Damsarani Vitharana, Ashini Ekanayake of Hillwood used her power
in dribbling and scored 15 points.
The Principal of Hillwood College, S. Hettige and Sashikala Ratnayake,
teacher-in-charge always encourage the girls to give a good performance. |
