medal at a relay event at AAC after 2007. Other athletes who represented
Sri Lanka yesterday, failed to live upto expectations .
The women’s 4x400m relay team, consisted of Sonali Merryl, Deepika
Sandamali, R M U Rathnakumari and Chandrika Subhashini finished fifth in
the final, clocking 3 minutes 39.54 seconds.
Silver medalist Nadeeka Lakmali also qualifying for the world

medal that Lakmali won on Sunday is also her third AAC medal. A
significant fact is that the coach of both silver medalists, Sachith and
