Fifteen treasure hunters arrested

The Artifacts and Antiquities Protection Unit of the Polonnaruwa
Police on Tuesday night, arrested 15 suspects while they were digging a
private land in Diulankadawala, Medirigirya, in search of treasure. An
electric hammer,
48 other items and two vans were also seized at the scene.
The suspects, residents of the same area and Colombo were produced
before the Medirigiriya Magistrate's Court. Investigations are
continuing.
