Sri Lanka Navy renovated the St Peter and Paul Church at Katunayake
as part of their social responsibility projects.
The construction was carried out by the Navy’s civil engineering
personnel with financial assistance from the Naval Social Responsibility
Fund under the guidance of Navy Commander Vice Admiral Jayanath
Colombage.

Chairperson Srima Colombage participated in the 143rd annual feast
officiated by Parish Priest Father Deshan Perera to mark the occasion at
the renovated church, recently.
Colombo North Region Vicar General Very Reverend Father Patrick
Perera graced the occasion as the main celebrant extending his blessings
to the Navy for its generosity.
Katunayake Mayor Lalantha Gunasekera and a large congregation were
also present on the occasion to express their gratitude for fulfilling a
long-felt need and beautifying their church where they could now engage
in religious activities more conveniently. |
