Punyawantha Buddha Boomi Vandana, a
book compiled by Presidential Secretariat's Religious
Affairs Division containing information on the birth,
enlightenment and passing away of Buddha and important
religious places, was handed over to President Mahinda
Rajapaksa on Poson Poya Day by its author Presidential Media
Coordinating Officer Buddhika Sanjeewa. Copies of this book
will be distributed among schools, temples, Sri Lankan
embassies and High Commissions in foreign countries. Here,

The Pahala Kadugannawa Water Supply
Project was commissioning on July 02, 2013. The project was
built at a cost of Rs. 6.6 million by the Water Supply and
Drainage Ministry, to provide drinking water for 2,500
beneficiaries. Here Water Supply and Drainage Minister
Dinesh Gunawardena and Senior Minister Athauda Senevirathne
commissioning the water project. Minister Ranjith
Siyambalapitiya and Deputy Minister Lalith Dissanayake too

Pakistan High Commissioner Major
General (Retired) Qasim Qureshi met Mass Media and
Information Minister Keheliya Rambukwella at his Ministry
yesterday. The two reviewed the progress of bilateral
agreements made during the visit of President Mahinda
Rajapaksa to Pakistan. Both discussed further strengthening
of social and cultural ties between the two countries.

A group of employees from ‘Cargills’
company donated a stock of ‘Neupogen Vials’, a high-cost
drug needed to treat cancer patients to the National Cancer
Institute, Maharagama. This was organized by the Cargills IT
department with contributions from members of all other
departments and companies of the group. The picture shows a
team from ‘Cargills’ donating the drugs to hospital
authorities last Saturday. |
