Pegasus Reef opens new banquet hall

Pegasus Reef Hotel recently introduced its newly refurbished banquet hall with an investment of Rs. 60 million. The Returns on Investment (ROI) is being targeted by the next three years.

Completed within a duration of three months, the newly opened hall, which can accommodate upto 800 pax cocktail guests and 650 pax wedding guests, can also be segmented into two independent halls with the addition of a special sound proof partition, has regarded additions of fabricated wall paper, bright carpeting and state-of-the-art lighting units.

Pegasus Reef Hotel, which has shares of 93%, which is acquired and being managed by the Carson Cumberbatch Group, the hotel is the first five star classed hotel in Sri Lanka. The hotel accommodates 140 rooms which includes one suite. The target demographic mainly attributes towards families, tourists, business people and honeymooners. With a serene and peaceful environment, the hotel is an ideal spot for guests who would not need to travel all the way to the city, when it comes to accomodation.

"Offering the convenience of the city being in close proximity, the hotel offers the extra incentive of a resort environment and Pegasus Reef is a popular venue for promoting MICE programmes, weddings and for the comfort of honeymooners. The Kelaniya Temple and The Muturajawela Wetlands are also located in close proximity," Pegasus Reef Director, Paddy Vithana said.

The abundant space around the venue can accommodate upto 3500 pax guests for outdoor events and marquee weddings. The hotel concentrates on bringing about changes according to the current period and that would suffice working on NGO conferences, conducting workshops and product launches.

Pegasus Reef Hotel is situated in close proximity to the Dikowita Fisheries Harbour, where nealry 11 acres of land belonging to the hotel, was acquired for public utility. Initially, the hotel had plans for the construction of kabanas, which was a Srilanka Tourist Board (SLTB) approved project. Due to the acquisition, the plan eventually had to be stalled.

"We have left the concept of dining in an open air environment which can cater to 200 pax, instead of limiting options for our clientele. We offer complimentary services such as the Wi-Fi and Gym facilities. Membership to the gym can also be acquired with special packages," Musthaq Ahmed, Sales and Marketing, acknowledged.

The hotel specializes in offering creative seafood themed cuisines along with menus that can cater to guests with distinct dietary requirements. An in-house travel counter, Laundry Service, Safety Lockers, Left Luggage facilities and Foreign Encashment facilities are also provided.
