Lyceum Wattala trounce Leighton Park College

Lyceum College Wattala went on a scoring spree as they trounced Leighton Park College 8 nil in their inter international schools under 17 boys football tournament opening match worked off at the Municipal ground in Kirulapone yesterday.

Striker Arfat Shyam booted four goals for the winners while Rajendra Thushnan struck three goals and Pubudu Ranasinghe contributed one goal.

In another match worked off at the same venue Gateway College edged out Stafford International by a solitary goal with Mario Fernando scoring the match winning goal.

In another match The British School in Colombo and the Asian International School figured in an exciting nil all draw.

Meanwhile in the opening match of the girls tournament The British School in Colombo defeated Gateway College one nil with Sooriya de Soysa scoring the solitary goal.

The tournament organized and conducted by The British School in Colombo in collaboration with the Football Federation of Sri Lanka will be continued at the same venue today.
