Dell surges ahead in Sri Lanka

Dell topped the list as the No.1 PC vendor in Sri Lanka for the three-month period ending March 2013 as reported by International Data Corporation (IDC). IDC also said Dell recorded significant sequential quarter- on- quarter growth, surpassing four other vendors to start the year with 29.2 percent share of the overall PC market in the country.

Meanwhile, according to the same report, Dell also topped the list as the leading notebook vendor with a 32.7 percent market share, recording a significant sequential growth. In the Desktop segment, Dell came in second with a market share of 25.2 percent.

"This is fantastic news for the entire team who has worked tirelessly in the past year," said Lakshmindra Fernando, country manager, Dell Sri Lanka. "Our well thought out strategies and marketing campaigns have worked well."

Fernando confirmed that an increased number of Dell PC units have been unpacked in Q3 and Q4 2012, which proves that this brand is fast gaining popularity amongst users in Sri Lanka.

The Dell portfolio comprises stylish, innovative, high-performance products, which appeal to the broadest range of enthusiasts - business users, young students and families to hard-core gamers who demand nothing less than the best.

"At the heart of Dell's product lineup is our commitment to deliver solutions that enable people to thrive in everything they do," Fernando added. "Whether it's an enterprise or a small business looking for an IT solution, a family looking to buy the most flexible system or a student who wants to make a mark on the world, Dell has a system for all of them."

Dell takes an innovative approach to delivering the most extensive array of notebooks, desktops and now mobile Internet devices.
