SriLankan to add Seychelles this year

Direct flights are to be established between Seychelles and Sri Lanka. According to a senior official of the Sri Lankan Airlines, the local airline, Sri Lankan Airlines will commence flights to Seychelles within this year.

Further more Sri Lanka's state run bank the Bank of Ceylon will be opening a branch in the Seychelles. And with this commencement there will be flights between the two countries with the aid of the air service deal.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa's two day visit to the Seychelles and the meeting with Seychelles President James Michel concluded with the confirming the air ties. This measure will lead to a boost of trade between the two countries.

The Seychelles President said that it would open doorways for tourism and business to commence between the two countries. He also said that through this Seychelles will be the gateway to the African region and other parts of the world.
