Swimmer Shehan for Singapore

Trinity College swimming team captain Shehan de Silva was the sole
swimmer from the Central Province to represent Sri Lanka at the
Singapore Swimming Nationals which wich being held in Singapore from
June 26 to June 30.

He will be one of the swimmers in the Sri Lanka National Swimming
Team and will compete in the 100 metres dolphin stroke, and his pet
event 100 metres butterfly stroke.
Shehan de Silva kept a very low key last year due studies and came
into the scene in roaring form this year smashing records after records.
At the recently concluded annual swimming meet of the Central Province
Aquatic Sports Association (CEPASA) he won five gold medals in the over
16 years open category and smashed five meet records to end up as age
group champion.
At the National Short Course Swimming championship organized by the
Sri Lanka Aquatic Sports Union he set up a national record in the 50
metres butterfly stroke event.
He also secured the most number of points for his school and helped
them to win the Penthathlon Swimming Championship after a lapse of six
years.
Many countries from the Asian region will participate at the
Singapore National Championship. |
