CAA to construct sub-office at MRIA

The Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka would construct a building to house a sub-office within the premises of the Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport (MRIA)to carry out its services more efficiently in the airport.

The foundation stone for the above building was laid by Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa, with the initiative of Minister of Aviation, Priyankara Jayarathna on June 11, 2013. Deputy Minister of Civil Aviation - Geethanjana Gunawardana, Hambantota District Development Committee Chairman Namal Rajapaksa MP, Secretary to the Ministry of Aviation, Dr. Ravindra Rubero, Civil Aviation Authority Chairman General Rohan Daluwatha and other officials were present.

Subjecting airport services to direct supervision provides a unique opportunity to the civil aviation authority to ensure the maximum safety and security of the airport services. So, the Civil Aviation Authority will have an opportunity to carry out its services in connection with the Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport with international standards by ensuring the maximum safety and security of the aviation services.
