With the tourism industry of Sri Lanka booming, the need for quality accommodation to host the inbound tourists and the local market is duly felt. Sri Lanka Navy has taken the initiative to capitalize on the potential of the sector by constructing cottages and restaurants in ten prime locations throughout the island.

The ventures are already in operation having been constructed within a short period of time after renovating dilapidated ancient buildings.

The properties which include Light House Galley (Colombo), Club House (Uswetakeiyawa), Reception Halls (Kantale, Poonewa and Kirindi-oya), Sober Resort (Trincomalee), Fort Hammenhiel (Karainagar), Nature Villa (Panama), Weligambay Villas (Mirissa) and Golf Club (Trincomalee) are all operated under the umbrella brand "Malima".

The newest property under Malima to be launched is the Club House, which overlooks the tranquil ocean of the Western coastal belt in Uswetakeiyawa.

The property which encompasses a luxury banquet hall; 'Banquet Bay', a dining area; 'Oceanis Hall' complete with a lounge which doubles as a seminar hall for corporate functions, a scenic lawn and its highlight attraction, the rooftop terrace; 'Sky Harbour', targeted at fulfilling the gap in the market for a luxury venue to host weddings, corporate functions and other occasions which require the glamour and glitz that the Club House has on offer.

In addition to the luxury venues, the Club House is also fully fledged with unparallel professional service, industry standard swimming pool, ample parking and a comprehensive a la carte menu, guaranteed to satisfy its patrons.

The rooftop terrace; Sky Harbour, which grants a panoramic view from the top of the world, in addition to its much sought after vantage point also serves to highlight an experience that is unique to the Club House.

The newly constructed Club House was declared open by Secretary of Defence & Urban Development, Gotabaya Rajapaksa June 5, 2013 followed by the launch of the website, www.clubhouse.lk.

Malima, the newest addition to the rich tapestry of hoteliers in the country will no doubt be a milestone leap in the industry.
