Navy launches Club House

With the tourism industry of Sri Lanka booming, the need for quality
accommodation to host the inbound tourists and the local market is duly
felt. Sri Lanka Navy has taken the initiative to capitalize on the
potential of the sector by constructing cottages and restaurants in ten
prime locations throughout the island.
The ventures are already in
operation having been constructed within a short period of time after
renovating dilapidated ancient buildings.
The properties which include Light House Galley (Colombo), Club House
(Uswetakeiyawa), Reception Halls (Kantale, Poonewa and Kirindi-oya),
Sober Resort (Trincomalee), Fort Hammenhiel (Karainagar), Nature Villa
(Panama), Weligambay Villas (Mirissa) and Golf Club (Trincomalee) are
all operated under the umbrella brand "Malima".

The newest property under Malima to be launched is the Club House,
which overlooks the tranquil ocean of the Western coastal belt in
Uswetakeiyawa.
The property which encompasses a luxury banquet hall; 'Banquet Bay',
a dining area; 'Oceanis Hall' complete with a lounge which doubles as a
seminar hall for corporate functions, a scenic lawn and its highlight
attraction, the rooftop terrace; 'Sky Harbour', targeted at fulfilling
the gap in the market for a luxury venue to host weddings, corporate
functions and other occasions which require the glamour and glitz that
the Club House has on offer.
In addition to the luxury venues, the Club House is also fully
fledged with unparallel professional service, industry standard swimming
pool, ample parking and a comprehensive a la carte menu, guaranteed to
satisfy its patrons.
The rooftop terrace; Sky Harbour, which grants a panoramic view from
the top of the world, in addition to its much sought after vantage point
also serves to highlight an experience that is unique to the Club House.
The newly constructed Club House was declared open by Secretary of
Defence & Urban Development, Gotabaya Rajapaksa June 5, 2013 followed by
the launch of the website, www.clubhouse.lk.
Malima, the newest addition
to the rich tapestry of hoteliers in the country will no doubt be a
milestone leap in the industry.
