Four hundred new ambulances will be given to state hospitals for the
first time in the Sri Lankan history. Two months ago 250 new ambulances
were given to state hospitals and 150 more new ambulances will be given
to state hospitals within next two months with JAICA assistance, Health
Minister Maithripala Sirisena said.
Addressing the gathering after handing over new ambulances to
hospital authorities at Beruwala District Hospital recently Minister
Sirisena said health facilities in state hospitals will be further
upgraded.
Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development Minister Dr. Rajitha
Senaratne said a ministerial position or a Parliament membership can be
obtained or created using money or by supporting a leader but a
politician cannot be created like that. It takes decades, experience,
intelligence and far sighted vision to create a politician.
Minister Senaratne also said Minister Sirisena is a real politician
who he honours a lot and both of them hold the same opinion on
everything. Only handful of persons can be named as 'politicians'
because politicians are not instant products. It takes a long time and
effort to become a good politician, Senaratne said. |
