Forbes Marshall Lanka donates
well to school

Forbes Marshall Lanka Pvt Ltd., a
member of multinational Forbes Marshall Group, specialized
in Steam and Control Instrumentation products, donated a
water well and a water distribution system to Hapitigama
Kanishta Vidyalaya recently. For over two decades, the
students of Hapitigama Kanishta Vidyalaya and Principal L G
S Dissanayake faced immense difficulties with no access to
clean water to drink at their school. With the opening of
this water well, FM Lanka brought joy to many children and
their parents. The handing over of the water well was
accompanied by a Pirith chanting ceremony by Handurunulle
Sirikusala Thera of Hapitigama Jayasumanaramaya, in the
presence of the employees of Forbes Marshall Lanka, students
of Hapitigama Kanishta Vidyalaya, their parents, and the
staff. The donation of this water well to Hapitigama
Kanishta Vidyalaya is one of the many community projects
done by FM group, since its establishment. Speaking about
this event, Deepak Sharma, country manager of FM Lanka, “as
an organization, FM Group firmly believes that we have a
responsibility towards our society beyond making profits,
and we strive to promote the education of brilliant minds of
Sri Lanka, whose path for success has been hindered by the
lack of resources available at schools.” |
