FCCISL facilitates Financial Assistance of Govt of India

S. Ragavan, Special Secretary to the Ministry of External Affairs of
the Government of India,who is the Chief Guest of the launch, released
financial assistance for a pioneer group of 200 micro level business men
and women of a total of 1,230 beneficiaries of both war affected
Kilinochchi and Mullaitivu districts, at a launching ceremony recently
held at the Cooperative Conference Hall in Kilinochchi. It is a Rs. 70
million project which would be granted among the Micro, Small, Medium
and Large categories of Business community for the repairs of damaged
business buildings in these two districts.
Ragavan, in his address mentioned that the Government of India would
continue to support the war affected victims all over Sri Lanka and
stated that they have already committed to build 50,000 houses and
commenced the work of laying the Railway Lines from Medawachchiya to
Mannar and Vavuniya to KKS and further said that the Government of India
would facilitate the development work of the KKS Harbour and commence
the shipping services from Rameswaram to Thalaimannar. He requested the
beneficiaries to utilize the financial assistance genuinely for business
development.
Nalin Attygala, the Guest of Honour and Secretary General of the
FCCISL, in his welcome and introductory address, expressed the
facilitation role played by theFCCISL since 2010 and detailed the
categories of beneficiaries and the amount of financial assistance for
each group. Ignetious, President of the Kilinochchi District Chamber of
Commerce made the Vote of Thanks. |
