Inter-schools’ handball concludes tomorrow
The third annual under-20 Inter-Schools Handball Championship
organized by the Sri Lanka Schools’ Handball Association (SLSHA) with
the sponsorship of Neo Homes Pvt.Ltd commenced today (May 16) and will
continue till May 18 at the Prince of Wales College, Moratuwa. The
tournament will be held in both girls and boys categories where eight
girls teams and 16 boys teams are in action.

The event has been one of the main school fraternity handball
tournament and all the top school teams are lined up for the
championship. Reigning Cup Champions (boys’) D.S. Senanayake College
will try their best to retain their crown while the girls’ defending
champions Medadedda Maha Vidyalaya are also expect a tough contest from
up and coming schools.
Cambrians emerged boys’ runner up last year while Galewela St.
Anthony's College won the women's runner up shield. With the growing
popularity of the sport organizers have made arrangements to conduct the
event in grand scale.
Experienced referees from Army, Navy and Air Force will officiate the
tournament.
