Tele-awards today

The 9th Raigam Tele'es will be held on May 17 at Waters Edge from 6.00 p.m onwards.

According to Chairman of the Kingdom of Raigam Dr. Ravi Liyanage, the idea behind Raigam Tele'es is to be a beacon to show direction for the second generation of artistes who will inherit the field of television to bring joy and happiness to the Sri Lankan viewers.

Awards under five segments - excellence in Teledrama, Television media, media excellence, Special Merit Awards, Popular Awards and Best TV Channel will be awarded this year.

Altogether 57 awards under five categories will be given away.

This is the highest number of awards Raigam Tele'es has awarded so far.

Chief Guest will be former Prime Minister and Senior Minister for Good Governance and Infrastructure Facilities Rathnasiri Wickramanayake.

More than 1,000 including artistes, media personnel and technicians will witness the pageant.
