Navy seizes haul of cannabis

The Navy arrested a person with a haul of cannabis (Kerala ganja) and
packets of pampara in Peria Arichchal Island.
Naval personals attached to the SLNS Vijaya of the Northern Western
Naval Command have found this haul of cannabis and pampara when they
were hidden in the Peria Arichchal Island.
According to the Navy Media Unit, Navy personals have carried out a
search operation in the island according to a tip- off.
They have found a person hidden in the jungle with 67.770 kilograms
of cannabis and 25,160 packets of pampara.
The suspect was handed over to Kalpitiya Police with the cannabis and
pampara for further investigations.
