Woman takes heroin to court

A woman who had 65 milligrams of heroin in her possession was taken into custody by Police officers who were on duty at the main entrance to the Kurunegala court premises. According to Police, the suspect had hidden the drug in her breast. She had brought the drug to be given to her husband who was in the Court Prison Cell.

The suspect, a resident of Wewgala, Kurunegala, was imposed three months rigorous imprisonment on being produced before Kurunegala Chief Magistrate Kavindya Nanayakkara.
