against enemies of the state
* UNP, JVP misleading the

The working masses in their thousands who are ‘committed to

terrorism at the expense of thousands of lives, will throng to Colombo
this evening to raise their voice against disruptive forces,’ Trade
Union sources said.

A walk with the participation of the working masses will begin from
the Lake House roundabout today to request the people of the country not
to be misled by insidious elements that want to drag the country into
another conflict.’ Rally organisers added: Sri Lanka is on its way
towards realizing its dream of becoming the Wonder of Asia by
constructing mega seaports, airports and expressways after the country
was saved from the clutches of terrorists in May 2009.
The country succeeded in achieving a seven per cent growth rate
within a very short period of four years. The government led by
President Mahinda Rajapaksa ensured employment for all those coming out
of State universities. The United National Party in connivance with the
Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna and the Tamil National Alliance is engaged in
a subtle manoeuvre to mislead the public to achieve their selfish
political objectives at the expense of country’s future prospects.
The UNP jointly with the JVP is in the process of misleading the
people by propagating various lies over the power tariff hike while the
Tamil National Alliance is working overtime to infuse fear in the minds
of Tamil people in the North saying that Prabhakaran is still alive.
The TNA has started fanning the flames of racism among the Tamil
community by propagating lies that the lands in the Northern Province
are being vested with the Sinhalese. The TNA has launched this campaign
to gain political mileage as their power is on the wane in the province.
The Northern Province has seen massive development within a very
short time. The government launched a massive infrastructure development
drive in the province and over 10,000 former LTTE cadres were
rehabilitated and reintegrated into society.
Over 3,500 out of 10,000 rehabilitated youths were recruited to the
Security Forces too.
It is understood that thousands of dollars are being pumped into this
campaign against the country by various international forces including
the LTTE diaspora and its NGO and INGO bandwagon.
