Shanthilal Silva dies

Death occurred of former Cambrian Cricketer Shanthilal Silva at the
age of 69. He had his entire education at Prince of Wales College and
played for the under 12, 14, 16 and first eleven teams. He was the Vice
Captain to Priyananda Perera in 1964.
He entered the University of Colombo and there too he played cricket
and after leaving joined the Ceylon Transport Board and played for them
in division one. He played club cricket for Moratuwa Sports Club also.
He was an active member of the college Past Cricketers' Association.
His remains lie at 38, 'Shanthi", Lady Evelyn de Soysa Road, Idama,
Moratuwa and cortege leaves residence for cremation at the Moratuwa
Public Cemetery on May 15 at 4 p.m.
