Panel discussion

The Buddhist panel discussion of the Colombo YMBA on Importance of Mudita will be held on May 19 at 10 am at its Borella building.

The panelists are Olcott Gunasekera, President, Dhamma Vijaya Foundation and Dr Kosala de Silva, Consultant Physician and President, Servants of the Buddha Society with Rajah Kuruppu as moderator.

All are welcome.

Bodhi pooja

A Bodhi pooja and Dhamma deshana programme organized by the Donors Council under the direction of Chief Incumbent Gampaha Ven Ariyagana thera will be held on Vesak Poya Day and May 25 from 6.30 pm at Madampe - Athuwana Sri Abinawarama temple.

Dansalas

A rice dansala organized by the Chilaw- Ariyagama Youth Circle and villagers will be held on Vesak Poya Day at the Ariyagama community hall.

A boiled gram dansala organized by the Madampe- Puliyankara "Mithuru" children's society will be held on Vesak Poya Day from 9.30 am at Puliyankara Maha Vidyalaya.

A sago dansala organized by the Chilaw Thiththakade "Ekamuthu" Janapada residents will be held on Vesak Poya Day from 5 pm near the Kanjukkuliya co-operative building premises.

The annual Vesak dansala organised by the Paropaakaara Samithiya, Welekada will be held on Vesak Poya Day at the Welekada Market premises.

Drama and dansela

The officers and inmates of Badulla prison will stage Vesak dramas on Vesak Poya Day and May 25 at the prison premises, Badulla.

In addition, a gram and coffee dansala will be held on these days.

Displaying Vesak lanterns all night, pirith chanting ceremony, a sil campaign and other religious activities will also be held at the Badulla Prison. Welfare Officer A T D Attanayake invites the public to witness the events.

Perahera

The annual Vesak perahera of Sri Wardhanarama Dhammachekka Temple, Pinarawa, will parade throughout the streets in Badulla town on May 23.

Avurudu

Maha bak maha ulela organized by the Chilaw - Kanuketiya Youth Club will be held on May 19 at the Kanuketiya public playground.

Web directory launch

The launching of the Alumni web directory and DVD of the University of Peradeniya will be held on May 29 at 2.30 pm at the Peradeniya University Arts theatre in the presence of Senior Adviser of the Human Resources Ministry Lionel Fernando and guest of honour Peradeniya University Vice Chancellor Prof Atula Senaratne.

Raja Yoga Exhibition

Raja Yoga Exhibition themed, Happy Life is a great fortune, will be held on May 17 and 18 from 9.30 am - 6 pm at Brahma Kumaris Raja Yoga Centre, 55, Peters Lane, Dehiwala.
