Six pharmacies with expired drugs detected

The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) detected six pharmacies that had stocks of expired drugs, in a raid carried out following complaints.

The raid was carried out in Kurunegala, Gampaha, Kandy and Colombo yesterday. Around 35 pharmacies were inspected during the raid.

Cooperatives and Internal Trade Minister Johnston Fernando said he instructed CAA officials to carry out islandwide raids on pharmacies and hospitals and take legal action against those found guilty.
