Tribute, at British School Auditorium
Tribute, a musical concert by the students of Ruvini Hapugalle
Gunasekera will be held on (Sunday) June 2 at 6 pm at the British School
Auditorium, 63 Elvitigala Mawatha, Colombo 8.

Hollywood theme songs. Popular classical masterpieces, by composers such
as Chopin, Debussy and Rachmaninoff, will be performed as piano solos by
award winning star students. The evening’s musical firmament will be
studded by a number of piano duets that the audience is bound to savour.
The popular Canon in D, Carmen Fantasy, Tango in D, Summertime, I got
Plenty of Nuttin, Mardi Gras, Cabaret and Havah Nagilah will constitute
some of the evening’s constellation of duets. A few violin and vocal
solos will add a tinge of glitter to the programme.
Tickets will be on sale at The Commons from Friday (May 17) onwards.
All proceeds will be donated to the ‘Music Project,’which uses music as
a link language to build bridges between the communities in the North
and South of Sri Lanka. The Music Project will utilise the funds to buy
educational and music support material.
