Karandeniya Police seize 17 firearms

The Karandeniya Police and Elpitiya anti vice squad seized 17 illegal firearms and arrested 18 persons in this connection during a joint operation conducted in Karandeniya and Elpitiya recently.

They were produced before the Balapitiya Magistrate who remanded three of them and imposed fines ranging from Rs 7,500 to Rs 12,000 on the others and confiscated the firearms.
