IASL elects office bearers

The Insurance Association of Sri Lanka (IASL) concluded the election of office bearers at the 24th Annual General Meeting held recently, at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel in Colombo.

Formed in 1989, the IASL is the voice of the insurance industry representing the General (Non Life) and Long Term (Life) segments. The Association is a catalyst for benchmarking performance, promoting uniform and sound practices and championing high ethical standards. The IASL contributes to regulatory reform and policy formulation by interfacing with Government and promoting professional development and market awareness.

Prakash Schaffter, Managing Director, Janashakthi Insurance was elected as the President of IASL while Dirk Pereira, Chief Executive Officer, Union Assurance commenced duties as the Vice President. Mohan De Alwis, Managing Director, Sri Lanka Insurance and Deepthi Lokuarachchi, Chief Executive Officer, Orient Insurance were elected as Secretary and Treasurer of IASL respectively.
