ISMM conducts first ever ‘Success Story Competition’

Institute of Supply and Materials Management (ISMM) has marked yet another milestone in their embarking journey by conducting their first ever “Success Story Competition” recently. Success Story Competition is a platform for the students and members of the ISMM to showcase their unpublished and duly recognized behind the screen achievements, in their respective workplaces, which has resulted from learning outcomes of the courses and programs conducted by the ISMM.

ISMM, as the pioneering institute in Sri Lanka for Supply Chain Management, initiated this contest to recognize the great efforts unleashed by the students and members to aspire as future professional leaders in the SCM arena. The contest was conducted separately for its students (DPMM, GDPSCM, MLS) and corporate members and the participants had to submit the case as per the guidelines given by the institute followed by individual presentations for selected cases. All the selected Success stories will be published in ISMM News Letters/Journals/ Website and other publications distributed worldwide as part of the Success Story Competition.

2013 Success Story Competition has ended up with producing two winners for the member and student category and a runner-up in the member category respectively as follows. Winner-Member Category, Gayani De Alwis, Director Customer Service, Unilever Sri Lanka Ltd, Winner Student Category, L. Yohan Gomes, Key Account Executive, Logiwiz Ltd, Runner-up-Member Category, P. Asitha Vibuthi Costa, Manager Procurement and Warehousing, Coats Thread Exports Pvt Ltd.

Presentation of certificates to the winners of the ISMM Success Story Competition was conducted at the Annual General Meeting of ISMM held on 30th Saturday March 2012 at the OPA auditorium. The event was graced by the guests, Past Presidents of ISMM, Council of Management, Fellows, members and invitees.
