S&PSL20 gains
The main indices of the Colombo bourse closed in opposite directions
today. The benchmark, All Share Price Index (ASPI) ended 0.17% (9.82
points) lower over last Fridays close while the S&PSL20 gained a
marginal 0.07% (2.26 points). The ASPI & the S&PSL20 closed the day at
5,872.43 points and 3,338.38 points respectively. Market turnover for
the day was LKR.885.27Mn, which was heavily supported by the off the
market trades in Commercial Bank of Ceylon (COMB).
The other major turnover generators for the day were Colombo Land and
Development (CLND), Brown & Company (BRWN), Sampath Bank (SAMP) and
Agstar Fertilizers (AGST).
COMB witnessed five crossings, amounting to 3.11Mn shares in total at
a uniform price of LKR.113.00. The off the market block trades
contributed 94% to COMBs turnover of LKR.374.84Mn.
A volume of 208 K shares of COMB transacted through the market. The
counter closed the day flat at LKR.113.00 CLND traded actively today.
Retail activity was evident on the stock, which traded at a high of
LKR.43.60 & a low of LKR.41.60 during the day. A total volume of 1.19Mn
shares of CLND transacted generating a turnover of LKR.51.14 Mn.
The counter closed trading at LKR.43.40, gaining 6.90% (LKR.2.80)
over the previous close.
