Leo Burnett Avurudu 'Kamatha' brings out true spirit for New Year
Colombo, April, 2013: In keeping with the true essence of the
National Sinhala and Tamil New Year, the team at Leo Burnett Solutions
Inc (LBSI) came together in spirited camaraderie along with the agency's
clients, media partners, friends from the industry and their families to
celebrate the national New Year at the annual Avurudu Uthsavaya.

This year the festivities were conducted under the theme of the Leo
Avurudu "Kamatha" and was held at the office premises recently.
The evening was filled with excitement and fun. Guests were welcomed
by the sounds of the traditional rabana and everyone joined in the
customary activities to celebrate the Sinhala and Tamil New Year.
The evening's events started with the lighting of the traditional oil
lamp, after which the guests were invited to the traditional Avurudu
table comprising milk rice and the traditional accompaniments as well as
a kavili mesa which was overflowing with delectable festive treats.
The Sinhala and Tamil New Year which is also known as the festival of
the harvest, is also celebrated with traditional games. In keeping with
this spirit of the season everyone who visited the Leo Burnett Kamatha
reveled in traditional games such as, kana mutti, kanata kiri kaweema,
the three legged race, kamba adeema, and banis kama; the evening also
saw the selection of the Avurudhu Kumaraya and Kumari.
This National New Year celebration at Leo Burnett is a yet another
initiative at which the agency draws upon the value of human
connections, thus capturing the very purpose of the global company -
