ICT writer and Editor in Chief of DiGit magazine W.G.T. Fernando presents the first copy of his latest publication, ‘My Tutor ICT and that of his father, well-known author of supplementary readers for schoolchildren W.O.T. Fernando’s latest work ‘A/L Common General Paper’, both intended as aids for GCE (A/L) students to President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees recently. W.G.T. Fernando is also the founder and CEO of Gamos Technology Solutions.

Water Supply and Drainage Minister and Chief Government Whip, Dinesh Gunawardena is on a visit to Madrid, Spain. Minister Gunawardena who is also the President of the Sri Lanka-Spain Parliamentary Friendship Association noted Sri Lanka’s economic growth rate as being one of the fastest in Asia, and highlighted several areas of cooperation that have hitherto remained untouched and could be further strengthened given the potential of Spain, which is the second largest country in Europe. Having received the Orden de Isabel la Católica in February 2013, Minister Gunawardena is the only Sri Lankan to have been so honoured by Spain.


Sinhala and Hindu New Year celebrations organised by the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Japan under the patronage of Ambassador Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda were held in Tokyo’ Chofu city on April 14. The chief guest was Chofu city Mayor Yoshiki Nagatamo. Here, New Year traditional food and the Avurudu Kumari competition.
