New commercial farms in all districts

Two hundred and fifty commercial farms are expected to be set up in the 25 districts in the country by the Agriculture Ministry, during this year. This was revealed by the Kalutara District Secretariat Media Unit recently. Applications will be called to implement this programme by each District Agriculture Committee office shortly. Farmers who wish to join this programme should possess at least land of two to two and a half acres.

Those selected for farming under this agriculture project, will be given technical and financial assistance amounting to a maximum of Rs. Five lakhs each.
